Ralph Nader announced Sunday morning that he would be entering the presidential elections as an independent come November. Democrats have been quick to pounce on him, saying that he is a spoiler to their party and he was one of the reasons why Al Gore did not defeat George Bush in 2000. I personally do not care, if Nader wants to enter the race, so be it. He is like a Ron Paul, except Ron Paul has said he will not run for an independent spot, but he could if he wanted to. Not that it will matter, Ron Paul and Ralph Nader are puny figures when it comes to the likes of John McCain and Barack Obama, but as Mike Huckabee said this morning, Republicans can celebrate, as Nader will not take votes away from the Republican race, unless they are from the Ron Paul fans - which in my opinion don’t count.
Speaking of Mike Huckabee, he is still in this race, and why? I don’t really know. He said he would not over stay his welcome, but I believe he is long over due to get out. He has been blasted this weekend for not following cues on SNL to leave the set, but it is just a reflection of what is happening in the Republican nomination race.
As for John McCain, Howard Dean has blasted him for skirting election laws. I think Howard Dean should just keep with himself, and try to help the Democrats where they need it, within their-selves. Barack Obama decided to skip a black democratic meeting, which has caused a major bubble to pop in the Clinton camp, but it has been over played and many people agree that Clinton should have attacked Obama in the debate Thursday night, when she was on national television and could take control of the Democratic race. She still has a week to get votes up in Texas and Ohio, but I have my money on Obama winning the Democratic race. Anyways, I’m all for McCain, and I don’t care for the Democrats. We will just have to wait and see in November.
