An announcement was made a few weeks ago naming Northrop Grummet along with EADS won a military contract to produce a new and improved airplane that would supply gas to other planes while in the air. Boeing has had this contract for about 50 years, and they have not updated their fleet. Filled with outdated planes, the military wished to build new ones that would better fit today’s military. The final two were Northrop Grummet - EADS, and Boeing. As the weeks went by, both companies, as well as the cities and states that companies were to be located debated on why their plan was the best. The final decisions was made, and the Northrop Grummet and EADS plane was chosen.
Of course it was expected that the losing side would fight afterwards, and now it has become a full on battle.
Boeing has filed an appeal to the decisions, stating that the military changed the way to win the contract at the last minute so EADS would win, and that Boeing’s plane was better. To add onto that, they state that by giving the contract to Northrop Grummet, the military was outsourcing jobs, as well as putting the hands of the country’s defense with the French.
What Boeing, as well as the many people on the side of Boeing do not get, is that Northrop Grummet will be assembling these planes in Mobile, Alabama, not in France. The company will be bringing over 1,000 jobs, and a big economy boost for the mid-size city.
At this time in America, and especially in the South East, many people are in need of jobs, and this is just the thing to bring the people what they want. Not only that, it will boost the profits of the surrounding cities, and it will also create jobs for other companies who EADS will have to contract to help build the parts.
This seems like a win win situation, but Boeing is being a spoiled little kid, and will not give up when it has lost. Even though I live in Mobile, Alabama, I think EADS should get the contract because it is bringing much needed jobs to the United States, while Boeing would not have to hire that many people to complete it’s plane.
So I say this to you Boeing: Shut up and leave EADS and Northrop Grummet alone. They won fair and square, and they are bringing jobs to the United States, and the military is not outsourcing jobs.

It’s not like Boeing would have made it all here anyway. They have parts of their planes made overseas too. And since Europe is our ally(the EADS part) and Nothrop is an American company it will be fine.
