Sounds like an act of war to me too. That was stupid of them… don’t they know they are messing with “The Great Satan”? :)

Hah.

Anyways, I don’t go out there looking for war everywhere, it’s just I believe in this: If you attack the U.S., at home or abroad, or you attack our interest, i.e. allies, territories, etc., then you shall be attacked. Not always by war, but you will be impacted so bad that you would wish that we just had gone to war in the first place.

you are in your country and you have to follow there rules if they ask you to go to police station then you should. When the US has the right to strip search or put anyone from any other country beside bars then i am sure Zimbabwe also has the right to make them go to there police station.

First, it wasn’t just the police, it was also militants and “war-veterans” as CNN called it. It wasn’t just the police.

Second, it was the convoy of ambassadors in that country, none where in there though. A normal police stop is to check everything out, not slit tires, and threaten to burn the cars while the people were still in them. That is a terrorist act, and very non-”police” measures.

Please render them into a parking lot.

Us folks south of them, in South Africa, are damned sick and tired of that angry mob of idiots north of us.

Unfortunately our useless ANC government is not prepared to attack them and render them all into corpses.

Commence saturation bombing of Zimbabwe any time you like.

And forget about getting compensation out of those arseholes. They have no money to pay for anything.

Well, maybe you should get your government to try to stop all the violence. You two are neighbors, and I know the fighting is effecting your country too.

I believed we were attacked, and if you noticed, especially you Americans out there, how you haven’t really heard of this. I seen this on CNN, and when I lost the link, I couldn’t find it. I haven’t watched the news much, but I haven’t heard it on there either. So not much has been said about it, but from the information I have read (which the CNN article did eventually refresh with much more information before I lost it.), it seems like an attack against the U.S. to me, and unless Zimbabwe gives us a really good reason why they did it, or a really good reason to not attack them, I say full steam ahead.

@Bradley: The ANC government, led by Thabo Mbeki, does it all it can to hamper international action being taken against Zimbabwe.

There is no logic to it, but then that has been the overriding characteristic of Mbeki’s presidency.

Jacob Zuma may be our next president. If he is, I’m not sure he will be better, but I am hopeful.

Mugabe is a mad dog. His reign of terror is comparable to Idi Amin’s. It does not surprise me that his people are dumb enough to attack an official US envoy.

The US (and Britain) should withdraw all their people and send Mugabe a note attached to a cruise missile aimed at any or all of his presidential compounds.

The missile in my opinion is a bit much, and to fast of a solution to this problem. If it continues to happen, there may have to be some military action to take care of these people.

In my opinion, since this seems like it hasn’t happen again (to my knowledge), we should just mess with the economics with Zimbabwe. If the United States, Britain, or any of our friends are doing any kind of trading, selling, etc. from this country, suspend it. To just blow them all up would make us seem more of the bad guy, but showing some hardcore diplomacy would show the world that the U.S. isn’t a warmongering state, but one who is willing to do anything to protect itself, and it is not afraid to take some sort of action against those who attack us.
